What Is This Hellaverse Names Generator?
The Hellaverse Name Generator creates original characters for Vivziepop's Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss — two adult animated series set in Hell's layered hierarchy. Choose your character type: Hellborn Demons (the native population of Hell's seven rings), Sinners (deceased humans who were damned and took on demonic forms), Angels (the divine enforcers of Heaven — often more violent than they appear), Overlords (Hell's elite power brokers), Imps (the lowest class of Hellborn), or Cherubs (Heaven's adorable but dangerous child-angels).
The Hellaverse is famous for its theatrical naming tradition — characters have names that feel operatic, Gothic, or darkly romantic: Alastor (a Scottish name meaning 'avenger'), Vox (Latin for 'voice'), Valentino, Velvet, Carmilla (a vampire novel reference), Zestial (celestial + zest). Generated names follow this theatrical Gothic-meets-modern aesthetic.

How Hellaverse Names Are Structured
Hellaverse names tend to be dramatic and theatrical — drawing from classical European naming (Latin, Italian, French, Spanish, Gothic), old-fashioned names with dark undertones, or modern names with sinister twists. Demons skew Gothic/classical: Alastor, Zestial, Rosie, Carmilla. Imps are snappier and more modern: Blitzo, Loona, Millie. Sinners reflect their human origin modified by demonic aesthetics. Angels use classical angelic names (Gabriel, Seraphiel, Azrael).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Hellaverse?
The Hellaverse is the shared universe of Vivziepop's Hazbin Hotel (Prime Video, 2024) and Helluva Boss (YouTube, 2020–present). Both are set in Hell's seven rings, featuring demon politics, musical numbers, and adult themes. The two shows have overlapping characters and lore.
What are the seven rings of Hell in the Hellaverse?
The seven rings correspond loosely to the seven deadly sins and Dante's Inferno: Pride (Lucifer's ring), Lust (Asmodeus's ring), Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Envy, and Sloth. Most main Helluva Boss characters are in the Lust ring (I.M.P.'s city, Imp City).
What is an Overlord?
Overlords are Hell's most powerful demons — those who have made deals or accumulated enough power to control large territories. They include Alastor (Radio Demon), Zestial (ancient spider demon), Carmilla Carmine (weapons dealer), and others. They are the political elite of Hell.
What is the difference between Hellborn and Sinners?
Hellborn demons (like Imps, Hellhounds, and noble demons) are born in Hell. Sinners are deceased humans whose souls were damned — they take on demonic forms in Hell based on their personality and sins. Charlie's hotel aims to rehabilitate Sinners.
What are Exorcist Angels?
Exorcist Angels are Heaven's enforcers — they conduct the annual 'extermination' of Sinners in Hell. They wear white armour with masks and are led by Adam and Lute. In Hazbin Hotel season 1, they are revealed to be morally compromised despite their divine origin.
Can Cherubs be villains?
Yes — Cherubs in Helluva Boss (episode 'C.H.E.R.U.B') are Heaven's good-luck messengers sent to prevent suicides, but they're portrayed as dangerously optimistic and violent. The contrast between their cute appearance and their methods is a recurring gag.
Is this tool official?
No. Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are created by Vivienne Medrano (Vivziepop). Hazbin Hotel is produced by A24/Prime Video. This is an unofficial fan-made tool not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Can I create a character for fan art or fan fiction?
Yes. All generated names are original. They are free for fan fiction, fan art, OC creation, roleplay, and other fan activities. Always check platform rules for commercial use.
