What Is This Hollow Bleach Names Generator?
The Hollow Name Generator creates original Hollow characters for Bleach — the corrupted spirits whose power grows through consumption of other souls. Hollows evolve through four stages: basic Hollows (animalistic, wearing bone masks), Menos Grande/Gillian (enormous black-robed giants formed from thousands of Hollows), Adjuchas (smaller, intelligent, animal-form Menos), and Vasto Lorde (humanoid, incredibly rare, stronger than most captains). Each stage has its own naming aesthetic.
Basic Hollows in Bleach retain the name they had as humans but are referred to by their mask type and appearance. Higher-evolution Hollows (Adjuchas, Vasto Lorde) develop independent names reflecting their nature and ability. The naming convention for evolved Hollows leans toward dark Japanese compound words: Shrieks, hunger, shadow, bone, void — imagery that captures the Hollow's nature as a being of consuming emptiness.

How Hollow Bleach Names Names Are Structured
Hollow names use dark Japanese compound words combining ominous concepts: night (夜 yoru), shadow (影 kage), hunger (飢え ue), void (虚 kyo), bone (骨 hone), moon (月 tsuki), death (死 shi). Basic Hollows have simple, single-kanji or two-kanji names. Adjuchas and Vasto Lorde have more complex three-kanji compounds. Mask descriptions range from animal skulls (wolf, insect, bird) for basic Hollows to humanoid masks for Vasto Lorde.

History & Background
Hollows (虚 = 'emptiness/void') are one of Bleach's defining concepts — the idea that un-guided souls are consumed by their own negative emotions, become monsters, and must either be purified (by a Soul Reaper's zanpakuto) or cleansed (by a Quincy's destruction). The evolution from basic Hollow to Menos to Adjuchas to Vasto Lorde mirrors spiritual growth through predation — each stage achieved by consuming other Hollows. The concept of Hollows was introduced in chapter 1 of Bleach (2001) and the evolution system was revealed progressively throughout the Soul Society and Arrancar arcs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the four types of Hollow?
Basic Hollows are corrupted human spirits with animal-like masks. Menos Grande (Gillian) are giant black-robed Hollows formed from thousands of merged basic Hollows. Adjuchas are smaller, intelligent Menos with powerful individual abilities. Vasto Lorde are humanoid, extraordinarily rare, and stronger than most Shinigami captains.
How does a Hollow evolve?
By consuming other Hollows. A basic Hollow can become a Menos by merging with hundreds of others. A dominant soul within a Gillian can evolve it into an Adjuchas by consuming other Hollows. Adjuchas that consume enough become Vasto Lorde — but this is vanishingly rare.
Can Hollow names use Spanish?
Some can — especially Adjuchas and Vasto Lorde that later become Arrancar. Their Spanish names would have developed through contact with Hueco Mundo's Spanish-influenced culture. Most pure Hollows use Japanese names.
What makes a good Hollow mask description?
The best mask descriptions link to the Hollow's ability: a fire-ability Hollow might have a cracked obsidian mask with flames visible in the cracks; a shadow Hollow might have a mask with no eye holes — just smooth bone. Describe the animal origin (wolf, bird, insect) and any unusual features.
Does the generator create abilities?
Yes. Each generated Hollow receives a signature ability consistent with its name's kanji meaning and its evolution stage.
Is this tool official?
No. Bleach is created by Tite Kubo, published by Shueisha. This is an unofficial fan-made tool.
Can Hollows be used as Arrancar later?
Yes — a Vasto Lorde Hollow is the natural candidate to become an Arrancar by tearing off their mask. Generate a Vasto Lorde here, then use the Arrancar generator to create their Resurrección.
What is the void kanji 虚?
虚 (kyō/kyo) is the kanji used in the word Hollow itself — meaning emptiness, void, or falsehood. It appears in many Hollow-related words: 虚圏 (Hueco Mundo's Japanese rendering), 虚夜宮 (Las Noches = the Espada's palace). Including this kanji in a Hollow name immediately signals their nature.
